A friendly outing

My life in secondary school was an enjoyable one. It was the best time of my life where I made very good friends. Even though my school was labelled an "ah beng" school, I never found trouble, neither did trouble find me. My teachers were great rolemodels. It was nice talking to them, asking for help with killer questions. If they were free to help you on the spot, they would. We would sometimes chat about life, current issues or ask about their life experiences. They were very nice to us. Not to mention the canteen food was cheap and good.

Ngoh couldn't make it for the outing. So sad but we still had a fun time even if one of the fantastic 5 was missing. We intended to go to Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill at Tanglin Road. However, the prices were quite steep. Needed to find another alternative so we agreed on Fish and Co.!

Justin, Zhi Gang, Kiat and Jessica Alba! (in the PSP)

After that we walked to Takashimaya in attempt to use my $10 Takashimaya Voucher given by California Fitness. Hehe! But Takashimay was closed and we were all disappointed. In the end, we left town early and went gaming instead. We ate supper too!

Kiat and his ice cream prata.

That was the first time and probably the last time seeing and testing the ice cream prata. I doubt I will see myself ordering that on a regular basis. Haha! Sweeeet~! :)

Trips down to the Australian High Commission

I went down to the Australian embassy twice already. It is located at Napier Road, within walking distance from Tanglin Mall, beside the American embassy and near British High Council. Going there only needs bus no. 132, followed by walking. The whole process is quite a pain, but you learn something new!

This is what you do before entering the embassy.
Firstly approach the guard house. Surrender all camera phones and cameras to the guard. He exchanges your belongings for a receipt to collect it later and a visitor's pass. Next, you walk into the guard house and place your bag onto the conveyor for scanning. Place any metallic objects into the tray and walk pass the metal detector. Just exactly like what they do for airport customs. Until the green signal says go, you go.

I found it very troublesome but what to do? When you are at gahmen places, there is no spot where you can pick your nose without them knowing. Haha

Anyway, I'm still in a dilemma. The Visa officer told me the visas may take a week or 2 to come. Do not know how true is that man. Argh so much thinking!! RARR!

Huat ah!!

Though the post date is Feb 26 Monday, I am writing what took place on the 24th. My family celebrates Chinese New Year quite slowly. I only visited my relatives 1 week after Chinese New Year started. Mat went, "A little late right Aaron? Got so many days during the week to visit must visit 1 week later ah? Haha".

Anyway, I only visit my father's side. Mother's side are in Malaysia. Every year is the same! We go there, play cards, eat dinner, talk about what we are doing, future plans and the usual. What I find funny and interesting are the actions of the adults when it comes to card playing. Some will hold the cards in their hands and give a clap, some shout, most open up the cards slowly to prevent heart attacks. I joined in too!

"Ah Peh!" (stands for Jack, Queen and King)

I was filled with meaning, content and joy after that night.

The feeling was nice... :]

You found me!

Hi! It has been a long time since 1/4/05! I have decided to put up this blog to share about what I am doing over there, hopefully with many many pictures too. Also, I plan to update it daily as much as I can. Hehe.

Right now, I'm having mixed feelings about this whole trip. Feeling happy and excited that it will be great exposure and experience. On the other hand, sad that I will not see my friends for the next 6 months. Back then I said I wanted to work in Japan and eventually stay there, coming back once in a while to visit friends. However it is really easier said than done.

Well, I'm going for some breakfast now. See you later! :)
